THE XC TRAINING COURSE Established in 1989, our Cross Country Training Course has developed into a top class schooling ground. Clients, who all use their own horse/pony, come from all over Central Scotland to use the course on a regular basis for practice before going to the season's events. Built over free draining old hill turf, with superb views over the River Tay, the course remains open in most weathers. Lindores Cross Country is an ideal schooling ground for all levels of horse and rider. Particular help is given to beginners and novice riders, both adult and children. BHS Registered Instructors are on hand to help sort out any problems you may have. The jumps range from small logs on the ground, to more complex fences at 3'3". These consist of: drops, log piles, corner, complex, ski jumps, wood and water (see Gallery). If you have a problem with ditches we have a great variety to practice over and build up the confidence of the horse and rider! The cross country course is available for individual or group hire. Easter time and school holidays are especially busy and it is advisable to book well in advance. The Course Regulations are as follows: All riders using the course MUST wear a regulation back protector and skull cap, show jumping hats with a fixed peak are not allowed. All riders MUST be accompanied either by another rider or someone on foot. All riders MUST arrive at least 15 minutes early to tack up and be at the first jump for their booked time. Please phone 07966 484447 if you are held up. All riders MUST sign a disclaimer (Children -if under 16 an adult must sign for them). All dogs are ONLY permitted if on a lead AT ALL TIMES not to be let off as soon as we are out of sight! Please do not let them roam round the farm buildings as there is rat poison down in places. All damage to fences MUST be reported when you come back down to the farm. Please take all your litter home with you! VERY IMPORTANT - All children to be kept away from farm machinery and animals. |
